Cooperating medical institutions after cervical cancer vaccination are established in Tama!

The government recommends cervical cancer vaccination.
However, there are many voices of concern. In the unlikely event of side effects, there are no cooperating medical institutions in the Tama area.
Therefore, we lobbied Hanako Jimi, a member of the House of Councilors, and Shoko Ito, a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Children’s Medical Center in Fuchu City, to set up a clinic in the Department of Infectious Diseases.

 Preconception Care held

It was held at Miraiku!

I myself suffered from cervical cancer and experienced infertility treatment.
In order for children, who will be responsible for the future, not to have the same experience as me, it is necessary to create an environment where they can face their own bodies and plan their future.
In the future, we will promote the introduction of preconception care into school education.
I hope that through this study, we can discuss cervical cancer vaccination at home.

Held a study session to train female disaster prevention workers and develop shelters from a woman’s perspective.

In response to the Noto Peninsula earthquake, we stressed the importance of this issue at the March 2024 council meeting.
A lecture on “How to Prepare for Evacuation Shelter Life from Everyone’s Perspective” was held at the Hino City Gender Equality Promotion Center Forum 2024 to foster female disaster reduction leaders and gender equality in local disaster reduction efforts.
We will continue to strengthen horizontal ties with the Disaster Prevention and Safety Division as well as the Peace and Human Rights Division to address disaster countermeasures.

Introduction of subtitles for live broadcasts of congressional proceedings

The Law for Promotion of Information Accessibility and Communication Policies for Persons with Disabilities was enacted on May 22, 2022 with the aim of enabling persons with disabilities to obtain and use information necessary for their activities as members of society and to communicate smoothly with others.
The law was introduced in June 2024, after consultation with the council secretariat, in order to improve the current situation in which people cannot obtain information in a timely manner due to the lack of subtitles on Hino City’s council meetings broadcasts.
In the future, we will continue to focus on building a system to ensure that information is reliably conveyed to people with disabilities and foreigners in the event of a disaster.

Heat stroke prevention for city employees

With climate warming, fan vests were introduced to prevent heat stroke for employees working outdoors in extremely hot weather.
Initially, the city recognized that employees were responsible for their own management and purchased the vests out of their own pocket or with a small budget allocated by each department.
We made a budget request to ensure that no employee should lose his or her life due to heat stroke, and this request was reflected in FY2024.
In the future, we will make every effort to incorporate heat stroke countermeasures for essential workers, keeping a close eye on the trends of the government and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
