Tokyo San-Tama Liaison Council Women’s Volunteer Fire Department Training Session
On September 7, the San-Tama Women’s Volunteer Fire Department Training Session was held.

Unfortunately, the workshop itself coincided with an important local event, so I was unable to attend.
I understand that “cooperation between the fire department and volunteer fire brigades” was also discussed at the workshop. I took the opportunity to propose that we create a forum where the fire department could join the ongoing collaboration between the Self-Defense Forces and the cities of Hino, Hachioji, and Machida—a collaboration that the 9th Fire District Headquarters Chief and I have long advocated—to discuss each city’s vulnerabilities and countermeasures.

When a disaster strikes and the Self-Defense Forces are deployed, the initial response involves 60 personnel assigned to protect 1.19 million citizens.
However, there is no guarantee these 60 personnel will always be available.
We had a meaningful discussion covering the steps toward implementation and other in-depth topics.
We will continue striving to make this a reality 🕊️💫
