Marking the 80th anniversary of the end of the war

Every year, I visit Yasukuni Shrine on August 15th.

This year too, members of the Tokyo Metropolitan Chapter of the Liberal Democratic Party’s Youth Division, Youth Bureau, and Middle-Aged Division visited Yasukuni Shrine.

This year marks the eightieth anniversary of the end of the war.

Our nation’s peace and prosperity were built upon the existence of the noble spirits who risked their precious lives to protect their homeland and hometowns, and upon the efforts of our predecessors who worked tirelessly for postwar reconstruction.

Here, we offer our deepest and most sincere condolences to all the fallen heroes.

We are determined to perpetuate the memory of their noble sacrifice and spirit, and to safeguard and pass on lasting peace.

We will forge a path forward with all those living in this era, so as not to dishonor our forebears and ancestors who lost their lives in war.
