Disaster Mitigation and Prevention Symposium 2025, Session 3

On September 20 and 23, the Social Welfare Council hosted the Disaster Reduction and Prevention Symposium 2025.

On the 23rd, we held our first outdoor workshop, which was incredibly educational.
I was especially impressed by how many dishes could be made simply by simmering them in a pot—and they were delicious too!!
I think I’ll try making them myself at camp or similar occasions.

I also experienced using equipment to lower people from upper floors for the first time.
The tires gripped the floor to act as a stopper, allowing smooth descent down the stairs.
Additionally, there was a booth using jacks to rescue a frog from debris.
I hope our neighborhood association will adopt this for disaster drills so many more people can experience it.
