Hino City Waterproof Training

On May 31, a flood prevention drill was held in Hino City. On that day, heavy rain made the drill feel like the real thing.

*The drill was canceled due to a thunderstorm.

Actual disaster response activities are likely to be even more severe.

This training exercise reinforced the importance of strengthening cooperation with the fire department, police, Self-Defense Forces, and volunteer fire department on a daily basis, as well as establishing a system of self-help and mutual assistance among all citizens.

In actual disaster situations, conditions are likely to be even more severe.

This training exercise reinforced my belief that it is necessary to strengthen cooperation with the fire department, police, Self-Defense Forces, and volunteer fire departments on a daily basis, and to establish a system of self-help and mutual assistance among all citizens. In previous general questions, I have emphasized the importance of disaster prevention infrastructure development.

In particular, I am advocating for collaboration with the Self-Defense Forces, which serve as the last line of defense, specifically between the 2nd Company of the 1st Facilities Battalion at Asaka Garrison and the three cities of Hino, Hachioji, and Machida.

With a total of 60 personnel, the three cities combined have approximately 1.19 million residents.

It is crucial to regularly discuss regional weaknesses, challenges, and areas for improvement, and prepare for emergencies.

We will continue to carry out activities to protect the lives of citizens.
